Details of the new firmware update

The automation market is in constant transition as both customer requirements and technical possibilities are continuously changing. If a few years ago it was enough for a motorised drive to be able to move from A to B, it now has to be energy-saving, time-optimised and quiet as well. Smart solutions should also be possible so as to network products. Furthermore, commissioning must be as quick and inexpensive as possible. To be constantly up to date, a motor control system has to be updated regularly. The D1 was developed eight years ago with digital signal processors and an integrated web server interface, so that it would still be up-to-date years later. This basis makes it possible to release regular updates with new functions that work with Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla.

A new function is synchronised adjustment, which uses two to four D1 control systems as multi-axis adjustment without a separate master. One D1 takes over the control of the other D1 control systems, without requiring programming. Both linear and rotary movements are supported. The new function can be used for height adjustments, heavy-duty AWs and parallel adjustments in general mechanical engineering. The torque mode allows defined torques to be used in rotating, closing and opening applications. The implementation is integrated according to CiA 402 with the following modes: profile torque, cyclic synchronous torque, profile velocity + torque set-point. Typical applications are the screwing on of screw caps in the bottling industry or the assembly of screws in general mechanical engineering.
