Solar energy: Bearing requirements of single-axis solar trackers

Single-axis solar tracker bearings are exposed to adverse environmental conditions for more than 25 years, ideally without failures and with as little maintenance as possible. The bearings' load profile includes UV radiation; high and low temperatures; and dirt, sand and dust. These are conditions under which a pillow block bearing made of high-performance plastic with incorporated lubricant really shines - proven in the field and in tough long-term test in the laboratory.
