Gluing robot

You can implement many different applications with robots. For example, in addition to positioning and pick & place tasks, it is also possible to efficiently automate the application of adhesives, sealants, paints and insulating foams. Our dosing and gluing robots bond components with the highest precision and consistent quality. The processes can be repeated exactly. Mostly it's about avoiding material waste and gluing or dispensing more precisely. Another reason is workplace safety, as the robot can easily come into contact with chemicals and supports non-ergonomic work. The user-friendly robot set-up, the control system and the modular concept governing our robotics components allow the bonding processes to be adapted flexibly. Our Low Cost Automation experts will be happy to help you choose and configure your robot system.

Adhesive application in the automotive industry

In Volkswagen's Emden plant, Passat B8 PA production uses a robolink® articulated arm robot.Gluing acoustic measures in the rear battery console area involves the bonding robot applying two adhesives seams, eliminating painstaking manual work by line personnel
and enhancing bonding process quality.
  • Automated feeding of the parts to be glued
  • Reliable application of the adhesive mass
  • Reduction of manual error-prone processes
  • Cost-effective bonding processes by the use of Low Cost Automation solutions
To the application example

Adhesive application in machine production

The tapo-fix GmbH, based in Wolfsburg, Germany, uses an igus room linear robot for precise sealant application.
The robot applies the sealant quickly and in perfect doses, eliminating tedious, time-consuming manual work. The result is higher production capacities and consistently high processing quality:
  • Exact adhesive compound dosing
  • Precise, consistent adhesive compound distribution
  • Consistent production quality
  • Cost-effective integration and rapid amortisation

Adhesive application in lamp production

With the help of the LOCTITE universal spray dosing system and an igus room linear robot, adhesive can be applied precisely. A high level of repeatability can be achieved thanks to the linear robot's high level of path accuracy and the optimally adjusted pressure of the dosing device.
  • Secure bonding of different materials
  • Flexible fill quantities
  • Constant adhesive pattern and exact dosing
  • Cost-effective bonding processes by the use of Low Cost Automation solutions
