Lightweight bearing technology without lubrication for drones and UAVs
Unmanned flights will increasingly characterise our future. Be it the transport of people in air taxis or the delivery of parcels by drones. Low weight, use in wind and weather and a long service life place high demands on components for drones. With our products made of high-performance plastic, you are optimally positioned for this, because they do not require additional lubricants, are quiet and corrosion-free. In addition, many iglidur® materials fulfil the fire protection standard FAR 25.853.
Advantages of igus® products:
cost-effective
Space and weight saving
Low noise and low vibration
Chemical-, dirt- and corrosion-free
Fast delivery
Complete systems or individual components from batch size 1
Vertical and linear bearings in a lightweight drone
This drone for pest control can move an extendable arm close to the area of infestation in order to spray pesticides, for example. A drylin®-linear guide and igubal®-bearing are used to move the arm and in the articulated arm. The focus was on robust and lightweight components.
Discover in this selection of over 40 application examples how our energy chain and bearing products are used in the aerospace industry to fulfil a variety of requirements. Challenges such as high loads, extreme temperature differences, tight spaces or low weight requirements had to be overcome.
