In a continuous casting plant, the foot roll is inserted immediately in connection with the mould to stabilize the still glowing material. High temperatures of 200 degrees involve extreme material load for the used ball bearings. iglidur® H is temperature resistant, maintenance-free, can be used under water, requires little space and is cheap. Another advantage: Because the foot roll is water-cooled inside, an iglidur® H plain bearing serves as a sealing and bearing place at the same time.
