Around the world, machines of all kinds are now used in a global economy. At igus, we have therefore been ensuring that products are manufactured in compliance with the relevant standards for many years.

Regarding our chainflex cables, we place special emphasis on fulfilling all guidelines and approval requirements of the most important international standards. This means that you will find the right cable for almost any global requirement: chainflex - at home in the world!

Even if there is no clear answer to the question of what the most important approval is, a few specific features, especially geographical ones, should be kept in mind. In Europe, machines may only be placed on the market if they have a valid CE mark. For international export, fulfilling the UL guidelines or complying with EAC/CTP plays an important role.

Various customers have additional guidelines that enable us to offer specific solutions for a wide range of industries. The semiconductor industry often requires IPA cleanroom approvals while sea applications need DNV certification. DESINA specifications also often play a major role. A system that has to function under high pressure around the clock requires the highest standards - that also apply to the suppliers of individual machine components. An example of this is the "Speedmounter" system from IPTE GmbH. By using our energy chains and chainflex data cables, less maintenance is required and the company can save considerable costs. In addition, our cables have a special design with a gusset-filling extruded inner jacket and therefore retain their transmission characteristics after millions of double strokes.

Measuring system cable for long transmission lengths

WALDRICH COBURG GmbH specialises in the complete machining of large components such as diesel engines, generators and ship propellers. The consequences are ever larger machining centres and increasing demands on technology. We have developed a special overall solution for the company with a measuring system cable that transmits signals reliably over very long distances and ensures high machine availability.

chainflex servo cable for off-road use

The team at Bochum University of Applied Sciences has been working on the development of a solar-powered vehicle for 18 years. It has to be designed so that it can handle the toughest conditions without problems. For this reason, all components must be lightweight and still able to withstand the heavy loads. Our servo cables have a special design that ensures a high current carrying capacity and can cope with the mechanical loads during movement and vibration so that the power supply is not interrupted. They are very robust and ideal for thermal loads.
